About our hotel

The O'Connell Hotel is a historical landmark located on the banks of the Fish River in Central West NSW. The O'Connell village has been deemed a historic village by the National Trust and the O’Connell Hotel, which was first opened in 1865 plays a significant role in the rich history of the village.

Located on the main road from Oberon to Bathurst, it was once the main road from Sydney to Bathurst and now days is just 15 minutes from Bathurst and 2.5 hours from Sydney. The Hotel remains a popular spot for travellers to stay the night or pop in and enjoy country style hospitality, with extensive dining rooms, sprawling outdoor beer garden and a cosy front bar with an open fire that’s a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy a drink.
